A Literal Star Trek Railroad

The rail industry calls "Star Trek" track to be track where no track has gone before. Usually this means something like the newly-constructed (2006) 5-mile Shelocta Secondary of Norfolk Southern. But today's press release envisions a railroad in space, specifically the moon, which will be developed by Northrop Grumman. From "The envisioned lunar railroad network could transport humans, supplies and resources for commercial ventures across the lunar surface, contributing to a space economy for the United States and international partners..."
