Chinese Railcar Manufacturer Dealt Major Setback

After winning North American contracts in Boston and Philadelphia, Chinese railcar manufacturer China Railway Rolling Stock Corp--owned by the Chinese Government--had a major setback with the cancellation of an order for multi-level railcars for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, "CRRC’s price was $34 million below its nearest competitor, the Canadian company Bombardier, which had more than a decade of experience building railcars in America. The Chinese company had not completed a similar project for U.S. clients.
